My name is Joss, I am an Eryt 500 YACEP registered Yoga Teacher. My yoga path began when I decided that my journey into the world of martial arts needed to come to an end. I found myself searching for something different—something that could be strenuous or not and offer me a more mindful meditative practice. Allowing me choices, I could make. My yoga practice would help me increase flexibility so that I could find peacefulness, quiet, and stillness that I had not yet discovered through martial arts.
My practice began in 1985. Yoga offered me a menu of many options from asana to breath work and meditation and much more. With the new perspective yoga offered, I began to explore. While karate taught me focus, control, and precision, yoga taught me how to listen to my body more gently. Over the years, my practice deepened, evolving with each new experience, challenge, and insight. My teaching now centers around helping others discover that balance between effort and ease, pushing your limits while remaining grounded in self-compassion and awareness.
With that knowledge in hand, I opened a studio in 2015. Initially, classes were at the studio. But since Covid, I still teach online. Over the years, I have taught over 10,000 hours. Having faced physical challenges throughout my yoga journey, particularly with my left knee. I live and practice yoga without an ACL maybe that is why I have been successful in teaching people who have knee or lower back injuries.
My teaching has taught me that one must practice at one’s own pace. Whether you are looking to build strength, increase flexibility, or simply find a sense of calm and stillness in your life, yoga offers the tools to transform both the body and the mind.
I invite you to join me on this journey. Let’s explore the many layers of yoga together, and discover how it can bring balance, peace, and healing into your life.
